We have been offered a speaker from a well-known Canadian economic research firm, Rosenberg Research & Associates, established in January 2020. Founder David Rosenberg is a fixture on social media and mainstream media with a reputation as being bearish ahead of the crowd. 

You can follow him on X.com (@EconguyRosie)  He also has a YouTube channel under the name, Rosenberg Research. You can read his bio and see what he’s doing at https://www.rosenbergresearch.com. “Dave’s Menu of Products,” it says, “are tailored to the active investor.”

When I got an email with a free trial offer, I decided to sign up. The firm’s flagship publication, Early Morning with Dave, arrives weekdays at 7:41 am. His son Jacob, who works with him, said his dad starts writing it at 4:10 a.m. each day. The Oct. 17 edition. Early Morning with Dave, which I have permission to distribute, is 16 pages long.

So what does it cost to become a client and subscribe to ongoing economic research papers, daily stock market reviews and podcasts? Jacob said most retail investors (about half of the firm’s subscribers) pay $200 each quarter or $800 a year. The price is in U.S. dollars.

Here's the offer. If some of us want to sign up as a group, we could get a special group rate of $100 a quarter and $400 a year. (Yes, still in U.S. dollars.) Can you let me know if that interests you?

If we have 10 or 12 members who want to subscribe, we could then get a speaker for our meeting next week. Not Dave, who gets thousands of dollars for each talk he gives, but Dylan Smith, a vice-president and senior economist at Rosenberg Research. 

The club’s next meeting after this one next week is on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, from 7 to 9 p.m.
